Lunchables Fresh

Taking a fresh spin on a childhood classic.

Lunchables is one of the best-known kids' food brands and is a staple in many American households. Lunchables created Lunchables Fresh to marry their quick, easy to eat snacks with healthy, fresh Del Monte fruit. Parents can feel good about buying healthy food options for their kids while kids are excited to eat the Lunchables food that they know and love.

The Lunchables look with a fresh twist.

When developing the package design for Lunchables Fresh, we pulled the illustration and "minis" (the children playing with and around the food) from the core Lunchables pack; and we differentiated with these same elements. Rather than the background depicting a playful, childhood scene, the Lunchables Fresh backgrounds illustrate the places that the fruits come from and are grown in. The minis on core pack play on the food, but with Lunchables Fresh, the minis play with the fruit or with objects that can be found on the fruit's farm (rather than a playground). The color palette was developed to fit within the Lunchables brand while illustrating the freshness of the food. And we picked a typeface that feels like it can be found at a farmer's market to meld childhood whimsy with wholesome, fresh produce.
